Privacy Policy — CONTROL REMOTE TV
1. What the app does
CONTROL REMOTE TV discovers and controls compatible Smart TVs and related devices on your local Wi‑Fi / LAN network. You can send remote commands, open apps on the TV, type into on-screen fields with an on-phone keyboard, and optionally use dictation.
2. No advertising or tracking
Based on the audited product tree and PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy for this release: the app does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or App Tracking Transparency tracking. NSPrivacyTracking is false. Personal data is not collected to share with advertising networks.
3. Data stored on your device
On your iPhone or iPad (UserDefaults, Keychain, and local files), the app may store:
- Interface and keyboard preferences
- Local diagnostic logs related to keyboard/network behavior
- Pairing credentials/certificates for TVs you have previously authorized
These remain on the device unless you forget a TV in the app or delete the app. The privacy manifest declares UserDefaults access with approved reason CA92.1 (app functionality / preferences).
4. Local network and nearby devices
The app uses the local network and Bonjour/mDNS to discover TVs. It may use Bluetooth as an optional aid for nearby discovery. It connects to TVs using compatible local protocols (for example Android TV Remote over TLS, or HTTPS/WebSocket to local device IPs). TV names and IP addresses are used only to connect and control those devices on your network; they are not sent to an advertising or analytics server as part of this product.
5. Microphone and speech recognition
If you use dictation, iOS processes audio according to the microphone and speech-recognition permissions you grant. The purpose is to convert speech to text for TV search/text fields. No third-party voice SDK was identified in the audited product tree for this release.
6. Encryption
Control connections use standard transport encryption (TLS) to devices on the local network, plus system security APIs (Keychain; CryptoKit SHA‑256 for identity/certificate fingerprints). There is no separate proprietary content-encryption engine beyond those standard practices. The App Store binary declares ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = false consistent with that audit.
7. Third-party services
No Firebase, ads, Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar analytics/ads SDKs were detected in the audited stable product tree for this release.
8. Your choices
You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings, forget paired TVs in the app, and delete the app to remove associated local data.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, this page will be updated.
